How to become a real estate broker in Ras Al Khaimah

Updated 15 October 2026 · Checked against official sources

Ras Al Khaimah is growing fast, and more brokers are looking north. The rules here are set by the Real Estate Regulatory Administration (RAK RERA), part of the Lands and Properties Sector of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality. Do not confuse it with RERA in Dubai: they are different bodies.

The short version

  1. Get a UAE residency visa and an Emirates ID.
  2. Join a brokerage whose real estate office is registered with RAK Municipality.
  3. Ask the office how it registers its brokers with RAK RERA, and which documents it needs from you.
  4. Make sure any project you advertise has a RAK real estate advertising permit.
  5. Check every year that the office has renewed its registration.

Who regulates brokers

According to RAK Municipality, RAK RERA:

  • registers real estate development companies and real estate brokerage firms,
  • organises the work of real estate brokers,
  • issues the rules for qualifying brokerage and registration offices.

What is published, and what is not

RAK Municipality publishes its services online, with fees. For real estate offices, we found services to open, renew and cancel an office registration. We did not find a published service for an individual broker card, and the municipality does not publish a broker training course or exam on the pages we checked. That does not mean there are no rules. It means you should ask the office and RAK RERA directly what you need before you start.

Office registration: the numbers

The renewal of a real estate office registration is listed at ⃃ 500 for one year. It is available after the office’s first year, takes one working day, and is done online through rakdigital.rak.ae with UAE Pass, or at the municipality. Only after this renewal can the office renew its commercial licence with the Department of Economic Development.

For you, this matters: if your office’s registration lapses, your work is at risk too. Ask to see the current registration certificate.

Advertising projects

To advertise a real estate project in RAK, a real estate advertising permit is needed. The fee is ⃃ 1,000 for digital, printed or outdoor adverts and ⃃ 5,000 for events. Digital permits last one year and printed ones six months. Approval takes about five working days. Your agency or the developer usually handles this, but you should never push a project without one.

Before you sign with a RAK office

  • Ask for the office’s RAK registration certificate and check the dates.
  • Ask how you will be registered as a broker, and get it in writing.
  • Ask who pays your visa and any registration fees.

RAK publishes little about individual broker cards. This guide was checked on the date shown above. Always confirm with RAK Municipality before you pay anything. CloserPass is not affiliated with RAK Municipality.
