How to become a real estate broker in Ajman

Updated 15 October 2026 · Checked against official sources

In Ajman, the document you need is the real estate activity practice card. It is issued by the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation (often called AjmanRE). Ajman publishes its requirements and fees clearly, which makes it one of the easier emirates to plan for.

The short version

  1. Get a UAE residency visa and an Emirates ID.
  2. Join a real estate office registered with the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation.
  3. Pass an accredited real estate qualification programme.
  4. Get a valid criminal clearance certificate.
  5. Apply online with UAE Pass, pay the fees and receive your card by email.
  6. Renew it every year.

Who can get the card

The card is for employees of real estate offices registered with the department. Three conditions apply:

  • You have passed a real estate qualification programme.
  • Your job title is on the department’s approved list.
  • You hold a valid criminal clearance certificate.

The card is valid for one year.

Documents

For a first card, the department asks for:

  • A valid criminal clearance certificate
  • A personal photo

Fees

ItemAmount (⃃)
Practice card100
Accreditation of the qualification course, per participant2,000
Tax fees100

These are the amounts listed on the official service page. The training provider may charge its own course price on top, so ask before you enrol.

How to apply

  1. Sign in with UAE Pass on the department’s e-services portal.
  2. Submit the request and attach your documents.
  3. Wait for an SMS or email asking you to pay.
  4. Pay the fees.
  5. Receive your practice card by email.

The service time is listed as five minutes once the file is complete.

Renewal

The office submits the renewal. The manager’s card is renewed first, then the brokers’ cards. For a broker, the renewal needs a personal photo, the qualification course certificate and a valid criminal clearance certificate. The fee is ⃃ 100. Renewals go through the Department of Economic Development’s digital portal or Tasheel centres.

Check your office first

An office needs its own real estate office registration certificate from the department, with a listed fee of ⃃ 500. Ask to see it before you sign. If the office is not registered, it cannot get you a card.

Fees and rules change. This guide was checked against the Ajman Government service catalogue on the date shown above. Always confirm there before you pay anything. CloserPass is not affiliated with the Ajman Government.
